about
This one is all about hope. Five years ago I moved to Rhode Island. It was a tough transition. I would look out at the water every day and dream about my New Jersey home. Writing these lyrics helped me to move on, and settle down in my new home. I am, after all, a very lucky man.
Over the years I've written some good songs with John Korba, and this is another one to add to that list. John also played keyboards, guitars, and sang the background vocals.
lyrics
This time it was close
Close enough to touch
Then the sky fell in
It all became too much
There was no battle fought
There were no plots or plans
There never was a line
There never was a stand
A river runs its course
Until it finds the sea
Then there is a light
That only sailors see
And it will shine, shine, shine
Wherever you may roam
Shine, shine, shine
Until it leads you home
Until it leads you home
Before there is a morning
That is everything it seems
Night can last forever
Doubt can haunt your dreams
Stand by your intention
To struggle and to strive
Cast off all uncertainty
Alive, alive, alive
A river runs its course
Until it finds the sea
Then there is a light
That only sailors see
And it will shine, shine, shine
Wherever you may roam
Shine, shine, shine
Until it leads you home
Shine, shine, shine
Like an afternoon in Rome
Shine, shine, shine
Until it leads you home
Until it leads you home
Shine!!!
Shine, shine, shine
Shine, shine, shine
